Tonight I am filled with thankfulness. I am thankful that my two precious children are sleeping peacefully in their beds. I am thankful for my sweet husband, who always does what's best for our family. I am thankful for the life that I have and all of my loved ones. But most of all, I am thankful for my God. I truly believe that he saved us from certain tragedy this afternoon during a very bad rainstorm while driving on the interstate. All I could think of during our TWO near collisions were our babies in the back seat, and all I could do was pray out loud for Him to protect us. And he did. God is so good and I am thankful.
I guess I'd better go ahead and give Matt some props for his quick reaction time and expert driving. Babe, you'll probably never hear me say that again so soak it up. But we both know who was really in control, don't we? :-)

Four months!!
William, I can't believe you are just days away from turning 5 months old. You get sweeter and more fun each and every day, and I am so thankful that God gave us such a sweet, precious boy to be a part of our family. Your fourth month has been quite a busy one! Here are just some of the new things you've added to your bag of tricks this month:
1. you can roll over both ways and like to practice it anytime you are laying down
2. you grab at EVERYTHING and anything you get your hands on goes straight to your mouth
3. your sister makes you laugh just by being around you and you adore her
4. you can sit up pretty well, but still lean forward for support
7. you still aren't sleeping through the night, but you have learned to put yourself to sleep and don't really even let me rock you when you're tired (boo!)
8. you are a total momma's boy and I love it. :-)

5. the last time we were at the dr. you weighed 17 lbs. 11 oz with an average weight gain of almost an ounce a day. you certainly don't like to miss a meal!
6. you are wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers7. you still aren't sleeping through the night, but you have learned to put yourself to sleep and don't really even let me rock you when you're tired (boo!)

We tried cereal last week and again this week and you definitely do not like it. I am posting pictures as proof of that. I think we'll probably hold off on that until you are six months anyway because you certainly don't need any extra calories! We love you, sweet boy and we can't wait to see what you do next.

A Day in the Life
Whew, it has been a busy summer so far...and we haven't really even done anything. :-) I feel like lately my days just consist of breakfast, lunch, dinner then bed. It all goes by so fast! I'm sure things will settle down once we get into a good routine and William gets just a bit bigger and a little more self-entertaining. I need to do a four month post for him, but for now here are just a few random moments from today.
we had the whole gang at the pool today. sophie has really been improving in the water this summer. she can now basically swim underwater...and all without having had lessons yet. oh, and don't mind the string hanging from my waist. that is supposed to be tied!
this boy is SO sweet. :-) he rolled over for the first time today, several times in a row. this was taken just before I took the pillow out from under him and he started rolling. how could he not roll, though? He's almost perfectly round. :-)
I was in the kitchen and heard Sophie say, "momma, I need you!" so when I went to see what she needed I found this. just lovely.
