Catching Up

Where do I even begin? I can't believe I haven't posted since the kids' birthdays. Time is going by way too fast for my liking!

First of all, i can't believe that my little man is almost 14 months old. He is becoming quite the character, but only with people he really knows. Otherwise he's just crying for me and wanting to be held! William is so different than Sophie was....she would smile at anyone who looked at her and was always super social. William is a total momma's boy and takes a while to warm up to people. It's really fun watching his little personality blossom.

see what I mean? total momma's boy.

William STILL isn't walking. He CAN walk, he has walked across an entire room and with some coaxing, he will do it. But he doesn't like to. He would much rather crawl. It's safer, it's faster and it's just easier I guess. I will say that at over 25 pounds he is definitely getting hard to carry around everywhere so let's hope he decides that walking is better very soon!!

Last week we celebrated Matt's 40th birthday. Fourty. My husband is fourty. For some reason that just isn't sinking in! I threw a party for him and we had a blast celebrating with friends and family.
yep, got all 40 candles on that cake. it took 3 of us to light them all. :-)
We celebrated Easter yesterday with the family at our house right after church. The kids hunted for eggs and ate way too much candy.....just the way easter should be, right?!

maggie found the golden egg this year and she was so proud. :-) to say that she was on a mission to find it would be a serious understatement. the girl meant business!
I love so much that Sophie and William have cousins to grow up with. Sophie adores them more than just about anyone. She told me the other day that she loves me even more than her cousins and I took that as a very high compliment! Matt's sister Lisa and her husband Brent tried for a very long time to have children before having these precious three. We can now see that it must have been God's plan all along for them to wait so that all our kids could grow up together. His timing is just perfect, isn't it?

our easter table. matt took the picture and it cracks me up to see his perspective...it looks like he took an aerial shot he's so tall!
I just love hosting for any occasion, and especially enjoy setting a pretty table. Any reason to break out the china and silver and get all fancy is good enough for me! Growing up, whenever we would all get together at my grandmas house they would stick all of us kids at a little table in the kitchen. I remember always feeling so closed off from the action and we kids would always joke that someone would have to die in order for us to get a seat at the big table. :-) Now for our kids I always try to make it extra special and put little treats at their table. Sophie even helped make the centerpiece. And even though it gets crowded and crazy in the dining room, it's my goal to always keep them in there. I guess pretty soon I'll have to figure out how to squeeze William around that little card table, too! :-)
a little bag of bunny shaped marshmallows for the kids. as if they didn't already have enough sugar. :-)
There's so much more to post about, but I guess that'll have to be it for now. I hear laundry calling my name! I hope you and your family had a blessed Easter holiday. He is RISEN!!
