I have to admit there is one
small downside to not finding out the gender of your unborn child. That would be the nursery dilemma. With Sophie I just HAD to have the room completely finished long before my due date so what I ended up with was a yellow somewhat gender neutral room (although really more boy than girl) for almost three years. Let me tell you I got
really tired of looking at those yellow walls and all the blue. So this time around I decided to wait until after the baby came. This was good in theory, but in reality it's taken three months for us to get this poor boy a room of his own. And still I'm not finished. Here are a few pictures of the almost-finished product:
I tried probably five or six blue paint samples on the wall before I found this color and I just LOVE it
this little shelf holds a few of my most favorite things: William's hand and footprint impressions from when he was six weeks old, the bible our church gave him, a precious newborn picture of him taken by my dear friend Chesley, and a sweet monogrammed gownmy mother-in-law painted these sweet canvases to go with the bedding when it was in sophie's nursery
and this is why I said the room is almost finished. this antique sideboard still needs to be fixed up and painted white. not sure when I'll get around to it but hopefully soon!
