This past Saturday was a very unfortunate day for Sophie. It started in the morning with a head on collision with one of the upholstery nails that line the front arm of my sister-in-law's couch. That resulted in an immediate purple goose egg on her forehead that, three days later, is still a very prominent bruise. Later that day we were at a suprise birthday party for Chesley and Dawn when Sophie lost her footing on a step and fell, somehow rendering her right leg useless. It was bad enough that Chesley's mom, who is a nurse advised me to take her to the ER. So off we went for our very first trip to the Emergency Room (Matt, by the way was at the Superspeedway during all of this). After having several x-rays it was determined that no bones were broken but they advised me to take her to an orthopedist if she wasn't walking by Monday.
Monday came and she still wasn't walking, so we went to an orthopedist where they took more x-rays which all showed no damage. We still don't know exactly what she hurt....her knee, her hip, her foot, ankle....it's not like she can tell us. All we know is that she refuses to put any weight on her right leg. Poor little Sophie. It makes me so sad to see her crawling around and favoring that little leg. What it all boils down to is we just have to wait it out. Wait for whatever is hurt to heal. She doesn't seem to be in any pain at all unless she puts weight on that leg, so that at least is reassuring. We're just hoping and praying that she's walking again soon. She gets very frustrated with the fact that she can't get around as easily as she's used to. Please pray that she gets better soon!

My goodness! She has had a bad few days. I will be praying for little Sophie (and her mom, too). I think sometimes it's harder for us than it is for them because there's nothing we can do to fix things. Love you!
Mom keeps asking how she every day. I hope she's back to her walking little self soon@
